My all natural easy skincare routine
It’s been a long time I wanted to share this with you.
I see too many ads, too many magazines talking about what creams/products you should use in order to look younger, or in order to get rid of your acne, of your wrinkles… The dark rings around your eyes, your saggy skin, your cellulite…. There is a non-stop stream of “thoughts and opinions” about how you are supposed to look like, and how much of a failure you are if you don’t look that way.
When I look at what is going on at the moment, it is as if we should all look the same way. The “red carpet” way, the “runway” way. SERIOUSLY? Well this is not what I want to pass on to my daughter. I want her to love her body no matter what. I hope she will be able to embrace all the differences between all the different bodies on Earth. Especially regarding women. Some have more curves, some haven’t. Some have cellulite (most of us by the way), some don’t. Some have big noses, some don’t. And I am so grateful that this is how things are. Seeing all those people going through surgery just to change their natural beauty makes me just think of how sad and empty those people must feel.
By educating our next generation and making them aware of all of this, we can make things change.
By showing them that we are grateful for our functional body, and that we just want to take care of it, we can lead by example.
On top of that, the quality of your skin, its glow or “imperfections” come from the inside out. Your skin is the mirror of what is going on inside your body. If you have a weak immune system, weak digestive system, imbalanced hormones…. This will all show in your skin. So yes people, it’s all about taking care of yourself, in a healthy and loving way, from the inside out.
That being said, there are a few things you can do to help your system – and skin – be healthy and thrive:
1. For my face: I cleanse morning and evening with pure organic 100% rose water. It feels great, refreshed.
2. I put a few drops on forehead, cheeks, chin of pure organic Rose hip oil. This is potent to nourish, moisturize your skin.
3. For the body: before the shower on dry skin, I do some dry brushing with a natural brush. Always from the bottom up towards your heart.
4. In the shower: I use mainly Dr. Bronner’s products. Pure, authentic, natural. They work like magic and smell so good (the power of natural scents people….)
5. I moisturize my body with coconut oil or avocado oil. I actually use Rosehip oil on my décolleté and neck.
6. I put with my hand a few drops of essential oils all over my body. It varies but my go-to essential oils are: tea tree oil, frankincense oil, jasmin oil, bergamot, sandalwood or cedarwood oil, and I love the “woman balance” oils mix from Neal’s Yard Remedies.
Here is my routine in a video :-)
And that’s it. It is powerful, those essential oils are my perfume. Industrial perfumes are quite toxic. Like most of all cosmetics products from your daily life: deodorants, make-up, nail polish, shampoos, gel, creams… If you have any physical problem going on, start by detoxifying your environment and your life. Some toxins like air particles, we can’t escape them. So let’s not overdose our bodies with those toxins that we can actually avoid.
And keep in mind: Cosmetic brands make you think you have a problem that you actually don’t have, in order to sell you things that you actually don’t need…. Ok?
Trust nature, trust your body. Fill your body with nourishing, healthy nutrients, inside and out. The rest will align and you will notice the difference quite quickly…
